PCCFA Candidate Endorsement Process

About Candidate Endorsements:

The Pasadena City College Faculty Association (FA)  endorses candidates and works to elect Board of Trustee Members who will support fair and equitable working conditions for all Full Time and Part Time faculty. 

Endorsement Process: 

Candidates running for a position on the Board of Trustees who would like an endorsement from the Faculty Association need to follow these steps.

  1. Familiarize yourself with the PCC Faculty Association and the current issues that are important to PCC Faculty.
  2. Complete the FA Candidate Endorsement Questionnaire.
  3. Prepare your endorsement and/or contribution request.
  4. Schedule an interview with the PCC Faculty Association.
  5. Schedule an interview with the PCC Faculty Association and the membership.

Committee Review:  

Candidate questionnaires are reviewed and scored by the Faculty Association Board.  Only candidates with a score of 100% on the questionnaire will be considered for endorsement. 

In addition to the questionnaire, candidates will be considered based on the following during the interview with the FA:

  • Experience with and knowledge of community college campuses and the current, specific issues that affect PCC.
  • Experience with and knowledge of the PCC Board of Trustees and/or other policy forming bodies.
  • Knowledge of the current issues the FA is working on and actively addressing.
  • Ability to communicate clear plans for the future of the campaign and tenure as a Board of Trustees Member.
  • Contribution amount the candidate is requesting.

In‐person Interviews: 

Candidate interviews are required for all endorsements. 

Deadlines:

No candidate will be considered for endorsement who does not have the questionnaire submitted by 8 weeks before election day and who does not schedule an interview with the Faculty Association by 8 weeks before election day.
