The first reps meeting was held on October 19, 2021 . The newly-elected Reps and PCCFA President Mark Whitworth and Vice President Mary Erin Crook welcomed the group with a discussion of the purpose, position, and responsibilities. The FA Reps Council got to work immediately by reviewing together and weighing in on the PCCFA Spring Return Survey questions for the back-to-Spring survey conducted recently.
Moving forward, the FA Reps Council will provide a platform to establish better and more timely communication between the PCC Faculty Association Executive Leadership Board and faculty members at large via these divisional representatives. Each divisional representative will communicate with faculty members within their respective divisions and share with the FA Executive Board and Council members any current departmental-specific issues, as well as provide input on possible contractual goals and other important concerns. Additionally, representatives will have the opportunity to participate in educational training related to the contract and laws impacting faculty, as well as provide articles for the FA newsletter and blog.
