NEGOTIATIONS UPDATE – Retro Checks Mailed and Paychecks Now Reflect Pay Increase
Dear Faculty:
During the last round of Negotiations, the Faculty Association negotiated a 6% pay increase for 2022-2023 and another 6% pay increase for 2023-2024. This increase applies to both full-time and part-time faculty.
Recently, we were notified that Payroll has completed retroactive payments for the 6% pay increase for the 2022-2023 fiscal year (the retro check covers July 1, 2022 to May 31, 2023; the paychecks issued June 1, 2023 or thereafter reflect the 2022-2023 pay increase). Checks (not direct deposit) have been mailed to the address on file with Human Resources, and you should receive your retro check soon. If you do not receive the retro check in the mail in the next few weeks, please contact Payroll Supervisor Sandra Meda-Walker at smeda@pasadena.edu.
Your paycheck should now reflect both the 6% increase for 2022-2023 and also the additional 6% pay increase for 2023-2024. The paychecks of ALL faculty should reflect both pay increases. There will be some differences of timing because of the variations in the 10-month v. 12-month pay schedules:
- Are you full-time faculty on a 12-month pay schedule? You should have already seen the pay increase reflected in your August 1st paycheck.
- Are you full-time faculty on the 10-month pay schedule? The pay increase will be reflected in your September 1st paycheck.
- Are you full-time faculty teaching overload? The pay increase will be reflected in your September 5th paycheck.
- Are you part-time faculty? The pay increase will be reflected in your September 5th paycheck.
- Future intersession paychecks will also reflect these pay increases.
Thank you for continuing to let us represent you at the bargaining table and negotiate on your behalf. The Faculty Association delivers measurable outcomes!
