Faculty Associations to Chancellor: No Confidence in “Student-Centered” Funding Formula
After thorough debate, and by unanimous vote, the California Community College Independents, representing more than 12,000 community-college faculty teaching more than half-a-million students, unanimously voted Òno confidenceÓ in the Student Centered Funding Formula. The resolution sent to Sacramento calls on the Legislature and Governor to replace the SCFF with simple, stable funding.
CCCI is an alliance of independent California Community College faculty associations–PCC’s FA is a member.
This resolution affirms that each district deserves an equitable share of Proposition 98 funding every year plus enhanced funding to improve local efforts to support vulnerable student populations and close equity gaps.
The Bay Faculty Association voted at its last meeting to support the resolution with a letter to the Governor and State Chancellor. The FACCC decided to follow suit at their state-wide meeting. (see below).
