Re:      Compensation for Class Conversions

A Memo of Understanding (MOU) between the PCCFA and the PACCD that addressed the COVID-19 impacts on faculty was signed on June 18, 2021. The MOU includes compensation for faculty who converted courses during the Summer 2021 term due to the pandemic. 

• Specifically, the MOU defines compensation for faculty who were required to transition a course during Summer 2021 to fully online or hybrid online.
• Faculty who did not previously teach online prior to Spring 2020 shall be provided a stipend of $300.00 per course unit of each unique course not previously taught online. For Hybrid courses, stipends shall be issued at $150.00 per unit.
• This one-time payment is in consideration for workload increases related to said conversion. 
• Entitlement to this stipend shall not apply to courses that a faculty member has previously taught online prior to Spring 2020
• In order to receive your payment, faculty must complete and submit the Self Evaluation Check List (Rubric) from the California Community Colleges Online Education Initiative titled “Course Design Rubric” located at the following URL: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/GMBYYQGCourse Conversion and Design Rubric Take this survey by Friday, August 13, 2021.

Again, for faculty to receive compensation for the qualified courses: 

1.      Fill out the California Community Colleges Online Education Initiative Course Design Rubric in its entirety for EACH unique course taught.

2.      All required documentation for Summer 2021 conversions must be submitted no later than 5:00PM PST on Friday, August, 13, 2021. Please note that this deadline will not be extended.

REMINDER: YOUR DEADLINE FOR COMPLETING AND SUBMITTING THE COURSE DESIGN RUBRIC IN ORDER TO RECEIVE COURSE CONVERSION PAYMENT FOR SUMMER 2021 CONVERTED CLASSES IS FRIDAY, AUGUST 13 2021 by 5PM PST.
