Included in Full-time faculty responsibility is: “… five and one half (5.5) hours for professional growth and development, college governance and other professional responsibilities”. That does not include other activitiesÑand definitely does not includeÑhours spent in volunteer assistance to aid in college operations.

Part-time faculty can be asked to attend campus meetings only if they are paid at their agreed upon hourly rate. This would include if special meetings for Adjuncts are planned.

Regarding personal leave: “All academic employees entitled to sick leave benefits have the right to elect personal necessity leave to be charged against their unused sick leave.”

Although the contract lists many occasions which would fall under allowed PNL, when a PNL is taken, the details of that leave need not be reported, no matter the excuse that may be given by anyone “needing a little information”.

Look for the contract to be posted on-line soon! Currently, contract language can be found on the HR link of the PCC site . . . it consists of existing language, a tentative agreement, and MOUs. We appreciate the cooperation of the college in combining all that into one complete document.
